Mindfulness course

The next course is planned for Autumn 2023, exact dates to be confirmed.

During this course we will explore and practice the fundamentals of mindful attention. Training our attention and focus we become more present, steady and able to respond more choice-fully to life’s ups and downs. As we become more aware of our immediate experience we have the capacity to explore and reduce our reactivity, develop more emotional intelligence, cultivate a wise relationship to thoughts and diminish self-judgement. With the cultivation of this curious, kind and caring relationship to our experience both internally and externally we discover the possibility to live more freely and happily.

The course is designed both for beginners to mindfulness and also for those who would like a refresher in its principles, techniques and practices. Each week we will focus on different aspects of mindfulness, and explore these themes through theoretical understanding, practice, inquiry and Q&A. There will be a variety of mindfulness meditations and practical ways to integrate mindfulness into daily activities at work, home and in relationships.

Participants will be encouraged to continue their practice and reflections between sessions and will receive resources to support this.

The course includes the following:

  • Specialist training in meditation, developing awareness of breath, body, feelings and thoughts.
  • Managing stress and learning how to shift from reaction to response.
  • Recognising and letting go of unhelpful habitual thoughts and mind states.
  • Exploring, understanding and working with a range of emotional experience.
