Join us for this unique event bringing together somatic movement and live music, a collaboration between Susie from Yogaroots and Koben from the Schuman School of Music.

Susie will guide some mindful movements, accessible to all, and designed to gently reconnect us to our body and embodied presence. We will take time to give attention to physical sensations, to the movements of the breath, and to how we relate to ground and gravity. Cultivating a curious and caring relationship to our experience in the moment and noticing what unfolds and arises from this. Exploring our somatic experience in this way could be described as a form of listening, that can seamlessly flow into the music and meditations that will follow.

There will then be a live performance of Meditations for String Quartet in duo. Inspired by Marcus Aurelius, Koben Sprengers wrote his debut album Meditations for String Quartet during the lockdown of 2020, which has been internationally released in 2022 on the American label Andelain/Yarlung Records with a wonderful release concert in Bozar in December of that same year. Since then, Koben has been performing his work in duo with violinist Amèle Metlini in a more intimate setting, where the audience is invited to sit or lie down on the floor to fully let the music guide them on their inwards journey.

There will be two sessions offered on Sunday 1 September and all are welcome.
